About me

Welcome to my blog! My name is Chris Waters and I am an associate professor at in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at Michigan State University studying microbiology, chemical signaling, gene regulation, evolution, and developing new antibacterial compounds. I hope to provide some perspective on the ups and downs as life as an assistant professor in a large research institution, and give you my take on science in the good old US of A.
